Cannot access admin area after installation

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

Hi there,

I have installed OpenCart 1.5.3.1 and Shoppica 2 as described in the manual (unzipped Opencart and installed on server, uploaded Shoppica 2 files via FTP). I did not customize or modified anything in the shop prior to installing Shoppica 2.
First after installation I cannot access the admin area without deleting all cookies from my domain. After this I can access the admin area, but when I e.g. switch off the visibility of the compare function I get the following error:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /admin/index.php could not be found on this server.

The URL called is http://website.com/admin/index.php?route=module/shoppica2&extension=shoppica2&controller=default&action=index&token=4ed54eca7904e99ea69b4d16c088b8e3&store_id=0

To then gain access to the admin area I have to delete all cookies from my domain, otherwise the error above will persist.

What is the fault?

Thank you in advance for a fast reply.

Regards,
Michael

The access to the main admin area cannot be connected with Shoppica. This seems to me more like a server issue. Anyway, post more details about your site (admin and FTP access), so we can throw a look.

It works without the 406 Error when I switch on/off the shop functions and click “save settings” on a different page of the shoppica admin panel.

I too am having this issue.

It’s only happening when I am using the ‘Shoppica 2 CP’ and trying to save certain settings.

Hope you can help me out.

Hello team,

I also encountered the same problem when installing opencart 1.5.4.1 with vqmod 2.1.7 and shoppica 2.2.0
Cannot access admin part of the site. Front-end seems to work with some error messages ontop.
I will try the following, document the errors and will let you know:
- install opencart again + shoppica + vqmod
- install opencart + vqmod + shoppica

Fresh installed opencart 1.5.4.1
Fresh installed vqmod 2.1.7
result –> site and admin not working
This is not a shoppica2 issue … clearly vqmod 2.1.7 is not compatible with / not designed for OC 1.5.4.1
Seems my problem is not the same as the problem mentioned above
Sorry :)

Thank you themeburn for Shoppica – it is a wonderful piece of software !!!

@TB Support

Yes this problem is still happening. I have figured it out to be a mod_Security conflict. Are you aware of this problem in the past?

When I disabled mod_security the site worked fine and I could update inside the admin panel without an error.

Thanks,
Dan

mod_security is a fairly complex apache extension. It does many things and has many configuration options (there are books about how to configure it). So we cannot just say – mod_security problem. The problem is most likely in an tiny configuration, unique to your hosting, which blocks some of the shoppica requests for some reasons.

That’s all we can say for now.

Hello,
I’m experiencing the same problem as above. I can’t access the admin after I try to turn on/off the store features or try to replace the payments pictures. I can access the admin area after I delete the site cookies but the changes I tried to make are not effective.
I’ve attached hidden the site details and also an image of the error.
Thank for your help!

@cornel23

Is the problem still valid?

We have logged in your administration and had no problems to save settings from the theme control panel.
