Can I upgrade opencart to latest vers. (+)

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi Guys

Basically 2 questions – hopefully simple answers…

I have the last vers. of Shoppica 1 and the client has been really happy with it and dont really want to upgrade to 2 (but will if needs are a must), HOWEVER can U upgrade my opencart to the latest vers. with no issues with vers.1? I am on OC 1.5.1

The other question (not related) can I add some kind of module or block so I can have some HTML in the top for a phone number and email info (just a line.) or where to add that?

Thanks for your help and getting the WP vers hopefully end of the month ;)

Hi Rob,

1) There is no direct upgrade from Shoppica 1 to Shoppica 2. You can consider them as separate themes. We’ve just added a lot of features in the second version. If you don’t have any major modification, you can install Shoppica 2 along with Shoppica 1 and just activate it. Unfortunately, Shoppica 2 does not support OpenCart 1.5.1.x. You will need at least 1.5.2.x (although we plan to drop support for it either).

If you have decided to upgrade, we would recommend that you wait a bit for a stable 1.5.5.x version and for a new Shoppica release. Hopefully, this shouldn’t take more than 2-3 weeks.

2) Where exactly do you want this text? Inside the site wrapper (white background), maybe somewhere around the logo, or on the very top right before the wrapper?

Best,

Hi TB,

Thanks for replying basically I moved on and understanding that the V2 was a new theme thought it was time to get it… so upgraded my opencart to the latest vers. yep 1.5.5 (didn’t realise it was that new but it is done now!) and then started to add the new theme V2.

If you look at the post I added here http://support.themeburn.com/topic/just-installed-v2-from-v1-all-good-except

I have a few issues maybe to impatient but can i fix these now? even if it is temporary??

Thanks

Rob.
