Our problem seems to be the same?

Have we done somethign wrong admin? or is there a fix for it from shoppica side?

Hi,
I am also experiencing the problem in that I get the error when trying to make store front changes from within the Shoppica 2 module.
When I click on save settings the error page appears with the message:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /admin/ could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I then have to delete cookies so that I can log back in to the admin area.

This error does not happen when I make any other changes using the module.

Please can you help me to resolve this problem?
Thanks, Paul

I’d be fairly confident in saying the above problems from various other users is identical to mine (previously posted). As soon as I disabled mod_security on my server, the error disappeared.

I am not comfortable leaving mod_security off and would really appreciate a work around from themeburns’ end as it defiantly seems to be a more widespread problem now.

… if you have access to your mod_security for the account you have installed shoppica on, try temporarily disabling it and then see if the problem goes away. If you do not control the server – this is probably not an option for you.

I have submitted a support ticket to my hosting provider and they inform me that I cannot disable the mod_security.
This leaves me with the problem remaining.
Is anyone looking at a solution to the problem as it clearly is not an isolated issue?

@broadley

I’m not surprised they won’t disable it – it would be a serious security issue and this is why I am so keen for a resolution from themeburn.

It’s a shame your host could not temporarily disable it so we could see if it is indeed the same problem.

We attempted a to disable it via htacess but it wont.

Shame. Just wait on a fix from Imageburn now.

Is the issue still there on Shoppica 2 but with earlier Opencarts?

October 3, 2012 at 5:26 pm #13938

I’m working on Opencart v1.5.4 and Shoppica 2.
I don’t have any other mods or extensions installed just a couple of other themes for multistore sites.
I need a fix for this pretty soon as I have a few sites I want to get it working on…fingers crossed.
I also found I get an error when I try to access images in the Shoppica 2 module on the footer payment section.
However, on this the image manager doesn’t work but shows the same error message:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /admin/ could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

The difference on this error is that it has a ‘close’ link next to the image manager text and I can clear the error and don’t have to delete cookies.

I to 1.5.4 and Shoppica V2.2

Seems to have only come to light with us on 1.5.4 and 2.2

So wondered if we need to. roll back and then wait a theme burn fix in 2.3?

Hello ThemeBurn,

I am having the same problem as everyone else here on this thread.

Can you please just reply to this? I am running out of time on this project, so if you can’t fix this, I would like a credit issued towards a working theme.

Thanks?

Dear ThemeBurn support.
Please can you help with the problem I have described in this post.
You can access my admin area on the website here:

Thanks

Can you try to add this to the beginning of your .htaccess file:

<IfModule mod_security.c>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

Let’s see if it will help.

Regards,
ThemeBurn team

This is strange.
I added the code to the .htaccess file and then I was unable to log into the admin area of the website or access any of the sites.
I went back and deleted the code and was then able to log in and view the websites.

Just out of interest I went to the Shoppica 2 module and tried to change the store front settings and also add some payment images to the footer and it now appears to be working!
I’m confused as to why or how this has happened….any ideas?

Thank you in any event ThemeBurn support team for getting back to me…

It appears your hosting is configured to work with mod_security, which cases these errors.

The 406 status means that the HTTP request Has accepted headers that the server understood but the client could not understand them or that they were incompatible with what was being requested.

Mod_security will filter for certain terms and if it meets them in the request, it throws a 406 or 500 error. Most likely, the Shoppica admin form contains one of these stop words, which are blacklisted by mod_security and this is the cause for the errors after save.

You can ask your hosting company to turn mod_security off or you can ask for the export of the blacklisted terms, so we can suggest a fix. Right now we can’t just guess which word in the Shoppica admin forms triggers the mod_security request denial.

Hope all is clear,
ThemeBurn team

Hi
All appears to be working ok now.
After submitting a support ticket to my hosting provider regarding the mod_security issue they replied with the following:
“We see that there was a specific mod_security rule that was causing this specific error. I have whitelisted this specific rule and this should resolve your issues.”

I would suggest to anyone else experiencing these problems to do as I did and contact your hosting provider.
Thanks for everyone’s support……
