Create category for main menu

Hello, short … i want to create a new category in the main menu called “recipes”. In this menu you should find, surprise, recipes … in my case for cakes and cake pops etc. Its no problem to create a new category, but i want to have sub-categories AND for each sub-category an own site with different recipes … My problem is, to create a site where i can place this recipes and maybe do with templates. I hope my description of my problem was somehow understandable … if not, i will try to discribe better. Do you have any advice? Any plug-ins? Any ideas? Thanks for any good ideas!!! Greets. I think I got the main idea… You want to create a dropdown menu with links (the subcategories) to external websites? If this is what you want to do, you can use this tutorial of adding custom menus, instead of using the OpenCart categories.
