I need help. How can I set the default options values for products?

I would like to set up default (pre-selected) values for options of products. In 1.2.9 the option value that came first in the sort order was set as default. However, in 1.5.2.1 there are no default values and an option dropdown would say “Please select” instead of showing a value.

e.g. There is an option Color. Values are Red, Green and Blue. I want Red to be the default/pre-selected value for Color.

Is there a way in shoppica2-theme? I have found a solution for the default-template,
but nothing for shoppica2.
