Description in Latest Products too short!

I’ve just found that the description in Latest Products on my home page (and Most Viewed Products as well) is so short it is cutting off after 10 spaces.. WAY TOO SHORT! I don’t mind the description being somewhat shortened, but I would think we could get a sentence or so at least in there! How can I fix this?
I’m running Opencart 2.0.2.0 with Pavillion version 2.0.2

Hi,

The global option of maximum product description length can be found in Theme Settings > Store > Product listing

You should also make sure you haven’t set custom product listing styles for your Latest / Most viewed blocks.

Ok, I’ve even gone so far as to extend the length to 400, but it’s still the same length as it has been. Where do I find the custom product listing styles to reset, in case that is the case? I’ve been back and forth through the control panel and haven’t found it yet! Thank you!

Hi,

It seems there is a bug with description length, which we will have to resolve.

A possible workaround until we provide a working solution would be to use the default OpenCart setting List Description Limit in System > Settings > Option.

Yeah we experiance the same issue. We cannot change the lenght of the Short description.

Hi,

We’ve investigated this problem again and it seems it hasn’t been fully resolved. We will provide a fix with the upcoming update, but you could use the following workaround until then:

1) Go to Admin > System > Settings > Option and increase the List Description Limit to a large number (e.g. 10000).

2) You can the use description limit correctly in Theme Settings.

Hi,
This workaround doesn’t worked for us. The List Description Limit field is not located Admin > System > Settings > Option. We found this field in Admin > Extensions >Themes> Default Theme>Edit. We set it to 10000 as you suggested and than we tried to enter the desired length inside BE. The length was extended only inside the categories, but not inside the Featured Products or Special Products and Latest Products. We forgot to mention that we use the Technopolis theme. We are eager for the upcoming update :P

Hi Stefan,

You are right, this workaround won’t work on the latest OC. Anyway, are fixing final bugs and hopefully will have the update very soon.
