Featured + Latest modules displaying vertically

Hi all

I’ve got Shoppica running on the following site -

http://www.kaseymumford.com/onlinestore/

Pretty basic customisation. Though when I tried to get the Feature and Latest modules working, they display vertically instead of being individually contained horizontally across as per the demo.

I’ve searched for this and noticed another user had a similar problem – http://support.themeburn.com/topic/modules-position – and have checked this, I overwrote the controller file as these instructions said to with no dice.

It’s probably the smallest detail – can anyone direct me to a solution ASAP – cheers.

Hi,

What modification did you do exactly?

Somehow, the featured and latest products modules for the side column appear now in the main content area. Generally, they are designed to look good in a narrow box (like side column).

Do you want to have something different from the Shoppica demo? Or exactly the same?

In the second case, you could give us your website admin and ftp access so we could check, what is wrong.

Hi,

I too have this issue and I have not done any modifications to the site – it’s a fresh 1.5.0 install. I have double checked that the controller.php has been uploaded and overwritten the original.

My site is:

http://77.240.7.78/

Hope you can help.

Hi,

The modifications I have done have all been cosmetic – I haven’t toyed with the coding or the shoppica files. I’d like both the featured and latest modules to sit horizontally as per the Shoppica demo.

I’m happy to forward through the admin + ftp details – let me know where to send them.

Thanks.

Hi Mitch,

I have fixed all my issues by upgrading OpenCart to the latest version (1.5.1.3.1) now my featured items list horizontally. I was trying to use the shoppica theme on an OC install v 1.5.0 and I found out from support that that version wasn’t supported.

Just a thought, could your install be out of date too?

Hope that helps

Ian

OK great, thanks alot Ian. I’m on a 1.5.0 install too at the moment. I’ll do a backup and then upgrade, see how we go. Cheers!

@mitchimusc

Indeed, Shoppica is not compatible with 1.5.0.x versions of OpenCart. Once you upgrade, you won’t have any problems.

@Ian

Thanks for the help, mate! Really appreciated!

Hi I have read the above questions regarding modules that will not display horizontaly.

I have a fresh install of Opencart Version 1.5.1.3 and have just bought the latest Shoppica version. However I have the same problem as a few others. Not sure how to rectify it.

Any advice welcome thanks …

Hi Lijuk,

Have you made sure you have uploaded all the supporting files from the ‘Additional’ folder? If you have, it might be worth re-uploading to to be absolutely sure, I thought I had uploaded everything but one of my transfers had actually failed.

Also please give a link to your site so we can see what is going on.

Hi sorry for the late reply , I haven’t tried re -uploading “additional folders” but will do and see if it fixes the problem. Thank you .

The link to my site is http://www.crystal-fashion-jewellery.co.uk

I don’t however have the Featured or Latest module set up ,
I want to try and fix the issue first.

@lijuk

Did you overwrite system/engine/controller.php? This file deals with module position.

January 19, 2012 at 5:09 pm #5395

@ Tb Support Hi , I did have an error after Shoppica was installed , as shown below..

Notice: Undefined index: position in /var/www/vhosts/crystal-fashion-jewellery.co.uk/httpdocs/system/engine/controller.php on line 46Notice: Undefined index: layout_id in /var/www/vhosts/crystal-fashion-jewellery.co.uk/httpdocs/system/engine/controller.php on line 47

So yes I did over right system/engine/controller.php …

If I emailed my admin and ftp details to you guys over at support maybe you’d be kind enough to rectify this issue so I can position modules in Content Top or Content Bottom.

Thank you!
