Has anyone come across this before? I have my shop in a subfolder on my site. I now want to have the site run from the root level. I get this strange message on screen when i do this though. Any ideas?

Hi,
sorry for the late reply. This seems rather strange issue. Does the site work flawless when you enable the default theme ? It seems you are developing on localhost, so I guess you couldn’t provide FTP login, could you ?
Best,
