Hi there, I have a Shoppica themed site in development. Just got the products imported into the database, 7000 in all, think the was achieved with the developer making lots of SQL statements. Since doing that the site has gone to worse than a crawl, page loads are in excess of a minute. Check it out: http://www.gadgetdrop.co.uk/apple – (if it loads quick – we fixed it)

The developer is saying it’s the hosting, and the hosting company says the developer needs to check out the DB. Is this anything you have come accross with Shoppica. I presume I am right in saying the amount of prods should have a minimal effect on page loads?
