LayerSlider WP Problems (Full Width/Background Colour/Layering Issues)

This topic has been marked as resolved.

I have installed the Shoppica theme, sample data and imported the sample sliders. I have added the shortcode for each slider to a test page one at a time and tested each. The Layer slider appears but with various problems:

1) The background image or background colour used in the ‘global settings’ of the slider does not appear on the webpage, only in the preview.

2) When multiple layers have been added or using any imported sample slider, the webpage shows all of the layers appear at once. No navigation next/previous buttons are showing. For the image example, the images appear in a vertical column floating each image under each other, nudging the content of the page to the bottom. With a new example I created myself the layers all appear at once on top of each other ignoring any timings.

3) Either using the sample ‘full width’ slider, or making my own I can’t get the slider to appear full width on the webpage when using the ‘full width’ setting for the theme itself. I simply wanted to replicate the slider on the themeforest demo page http://shoppica-wordpress.com/. I couldn’t find out how to make the slatted diagonal background image to appear. I did think I needed to import the image (I believe this effect is a transparent .png, tiled on a set background colour).

I can’t believe with all my attempts that I have done much wrong and there seems something more fundamental wrong with the theme v1.3.0 and it’s integration with this plugin. I can’t send a weblink as the site is protected at present.

The error ‘TypeError: jQuery(…).layerSlider is not a function’ is appearing in the web console on Firefox, which seems a likely cause of all the problems. This is running on a clean install of WordPress 3.6.1, with no other plugins installed.

Any help appreciated.

Ok, my details are listed.

On this site there are actually some plugins installed but as I mentioned I did have the same issue on another site free from plugins.

Hello,

Your problem was that you used default LayerSlider shortcode instead of the one we put in Visual Composer. We have changed it and now everything is working fine.

Many thanks. I see, I thought I had imported the sample data and not changed it but obviously when swapping between slider types I had copied the shortcode again from the LayerSlider page rather than using the Visual Composer. I will know for next time.
