ThemeBurn Support › Forums › General › Feature Requests › Please give us dummies a change to customize Shoppica without "hacking"!
As much as I like Shoppica theme it is taking way too much time and headaches to get a simple, customized menu working with different languages. And when that part finally work it all starts over again trying to get the “Home” text change with the language! Basic stuff one would think. Also lining up, rearranging and hiding texts on the product pages would be great if it could be doable without “hacking”. I would really love it if the theme could be customized by dummies too. Will be forced to drop it until then. |

Hi Grandma! Could you define, what you mean by “hacking”? If you have any good proposal, we can implement it in the coming versions. Unfortunately, it is OpenCart and not Shoppica that has a poor menu system. It has just a category output and that is all! At least we add the option to show the information pages in the top menu. About the translation of the different menus – with no menu management functionality, there is no other way to do the job, unless the hardcode one. Just could you be more specific about the “hacking” and “cleaner” way to do customization? Did you had better experience with other templates? We will accept and try to implement any good idea here. Best, ThemeBurn teama |

The problem is that Shoppica is very good and spoils us so one wants more. It’s all your fault. OpenCart’s menu solution is very limited and that is why Shoppica is a fresh breeze among similar solutions. But I wish it was a “button to press” or “choices to tick” solution with the level one menu so one would not have to go in to the scripts (ie. my word for “hacking”). With additional “tick choices” to have or not have the sub menus, and even how many levels of sub menus. Same thing for the languages and menu items. I am not sure this is doable but would of course love to see the language tabs for each menu item instead of having to change or add to the scripts. The alternative is to make a very basic and clear step by step tutorial with pics so us dummies hopefully gets it. You are doing a great job guys. And as I said, you make us want more. I have not given up on Shoppica, am just waiting for next version and trying to find out how to change the language for the ‘home’ text. |

HI, We are considering a mega menu extension for those with greater requirements: drag and drop categories, featured products, submenu builder etc. The problem is that we are little bit short of time Hopefully, this could be released in a month or so Best, |
