Problem installing

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi I just bought this theme but when I try to install shippica.zip I get the following message:

Could not copy file. /home/transfer/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/shoppica1/shoppica

I tried renaming the zip package file name to somthing shorter but still get the same problem

Hello Bodster2,

The problem comes from wrong folder permissions.

The uploads directory may need to be 775 or 777, depending on your server configuration.

Hi, I tried changing to 775 and 777 but still get the same problem:

775: Could not copy file. /home/transfer/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/shoppica7/shoppica

777: Could not copy file. /home/transfer/public_html/wp-content/upgrade/shoppica8/shoppica

I am getting the same problem when unzipping on my local machine. Says its not the right directory…

//Unable to expand “shoppica.zip” into “shoppica_wp_v.1.0″. (Error 20 – Not a directory)//

@Bodster2,

This is a common problem.

Please try to change all your files and folders to 777 and when you install the theme switch them back, especially wp-config.php!

If there is no success with this, please unzip the theme on your hard drive and upload shoppica folder to wp-content/themes, then go to Appearance -> Themes and activate it.

@boydpe,

Do you have problem with the pack archive (theme, documentation, psd) or with theme archive?

I just tested them both and everythig looks fine.

Also what operating system you are using.

I used a different unzipping program and it worked. Not sure what is wrong. Good luck with sales! Thanks for the great product!!!

Hi, I tried changing permissions then changing back and now I can’t even log into my wordpress page. Nothing happens when I try to log in. Any idea what the problem is?

@Bodster2,

Permissions on all WordPress files should be 644. Permissions on all WordPress directories should be 755.

- The uploads directory may need to be 775 or 777, depending on your server configuration.
- wp-config.php should be 600, 640, or 644, whatever is the lowest number that works.

Hi, sorrry but this is a bit beyond me. most of my permission seem to be 755.
I’ve never had this problem installing other themes.

@Bodster2,

We will need the website url, admin and ftp access, so we can check.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

Hi, I have unzipped the theme and am trying to FTP to the wordpress themes folder to see if that works. Is this the correct procedure?
If this doesn’t work I’ll send you the site info.
Thanks
