Product not found from Featured list only

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesShoppica OpenCart ThemeProduct not found from Featured list only

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Only from the featured products that are displayed, and only from the ‘Add to Cart’ option in the featured box do I get the error when selecting ‘Add to Cart’. If I select the image, it finds the product and brings up the product page. The product id’s match, just getting the error from the ‘Add to Cart option’ from within the Featured product list.

Actually, I set up the demo for my client and the first product which I inserted does work, the 3 additional featured products that were later added by the client do not. However, there are no differences I can find regarding the products.

Thank you.

Hi,

The problem comes from the & not properly encoded into & in the redirect url, when the product has options.

Have you tried test, if the problem is present, when using the default OpenCart theme?

We will need admin and ftp access to further investigate the problem.

Hi,

The problem is fixed now.

We see now, you are using a little bit older version of Shoppica (1.0.10). You can update it if you want. We released yesterday an OpenCart 1.5.2.x compatible version.

Re: ‘Fixed’.

Thank you, but it’s not really fixed. Selecting the ‘Add to Cart’ option from within the featured box now finds the product page and not a ‘product not found’ result, but it doesn’t add the product to the shopping cart — the cart is empty.

From the product page a shopper can then ‘add to cart’, but the option from within the featured box isn’t adding the product directly to the cart.

Follow up…

My client is happy with the fact that it’s not returning a ‘product not found’ page. I just don’t understand why — unless it ties back to what I’ve Googled regarding ‘products that require options’ to be chosen. It would seem like it should add the base price to the cart and any option would simply change the total.

Again, this is just the ‘Add to Cart’ option from within a Featured Box, and only is an issue with products that have options.

Hi,

The problem you describe is a part of the OpenCart functionality. You can’t directly add a product with options to the card. This is how OpenCart is designed. You can try with the default theme too and you will get the same behavior.

I’m having this problem at the moment with featured products (latest) on the homepage with multiple options – can you tell me what the solution was, that was found in this case?

Jon

@jonidfld

This was a bug from previous versions of Shoppica. It is fixed in the latest one.

Which is your version? Have you tried to upgrade?
