Shoppica 2 color schemer not saving blank screen

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

I just ran a clone of my opencart store to make sure I could upgrade from 1.4.9 to 1.5.4

the upgrade went fine….until I tried to upgrade shoppica to shoppica2.
The layout methods and new options in Opencart 1.5 are baffling and confusing to wrap my head around, I just dont grasp why all the different layouts…and the weird terminology.

but I was able to overwrite everything and get the template installed and running

I desperately need to change my backgrounds and colors using the color schemer….I have not used the color schemer before on the old site as it was broken for the day we installed it ..it only produced a white screen.

normally I would just ignore this as I have in the past and just add the code myself…but this needs to work, I need my updater who works on the content of the site to be able to do this easily.

now I am essentially running a clean install on shoppica2 and again the color schemer is not saving the changes and producing a white screen.

here is the link to our dev site.

here is an example of our live site running OC 1.4.9 and shoppica1

I have to make the new demo in /v15 look identical to the production site.

thanks

HI,

The difference between Shoppica 1 and 2 comes from the responsive layout in Shoppica 2 and all the new features we have added. If you are not happy with it, you can still use Shoppica 1.

About the color schemer, it should work normally. We have cleaned all major bugs, but there is always a chance that there are some edge cases left unnoticed.

In order to help you, we will need ftp and admin access to your website.

due to our privacy policies, we cannot grant you access to our backend or customer database without a confidentiality agreement being signed and faxed or mailed in.

we dont know who you are and dont trust that our clients data and our company records will be safe in your techs hands.

you would have access to our secure processioning key
client list
company sale records
wholesale prices
and upcoming unreleased products.

This may seem insignificant to you, but our clients privacy is important to us, they would not appreciate a complete stranger not affiliated with our company browsing their data.

can you give some recommendations as to why the color schemer is blank?..as this seems to be a common issue.

This is definitely not a common issue. A few customers (from more than 4000) had it and the problem is usually a misconfigured server, bad opencart upgrade or improper Shoppica installation.

We respect your privacy rules, but we can’t just guess what happens on your server. You could setup us a clean Shoppica install with the default opencart data. We need to get the issue demonstrated. There are hundreds of reasons for a blank page.

Yes thank you

I dont see why folks let complete strangers inside their websites and give them access to all of their data…my clients would be furious. We take data security very seriously.

It’s not a server issue, the upgrade process is the issue.

We did this twice more on a new box, fresh install and it worked but repeat the same upgrade and it did not work.

the box is fine as it is on a box with another site that you guys have worked on previously for one of our other clients…(i put it on there knowing you would mention that the box was the issue, so this eliminated that variable)

I found many others having he same issue or similar issue with a blank screen or changes not saving …..just google it.

However, I have resolved the problem on my own.

Can you share with us what was the cause for the blank page and how did you manage to fix it ?
