I can successfully add articles to my Shopping cart, but the total amount always stays the same, $0, even when the order is processed. Why is that? What can I do?

The system response for the order total is 0.0, which may be not related to Shoppica. Can you change to the default theme and check if the total amount is updated properly ? Also, are you sure you aren’t using some vqmod or custom modifications ?

Hi, I’ve set the Default theme and the Total still wasn’t working … I did however install vqmod a couple of days ago, when I was trying to install a specific OpenCart addon. I now don’t need that addon anymore, so I’m willing to remove vqmod. How can I do that? What can I do?

Enter the vqmod/xml/ folder and delete everything except vqmod_opencart.xml .

As this is clearly not a Shoppica issue, we can’t guess which extension or custom modification is causing your troubles. You can try with clean opencart installation or review the modifications and custom extensions one by one to see where is the problem.
