Hello TB,
I would like to upgrade from v1.2.5 to v1.2.8. my current opencart version is 2.0.3.1.

Is v1.2.8 compatible with 2.0.3.1 or is there any known incompatiblity?

1) i downloaded v1.2.8 from themeforest , in file Theme Package/OpenCart_v2.0.x/tb_themes/pavilion/config/data/theme.ocmod.xml , version is still 1.2.6 , i suppose it’s only a label with no impact but the code itself is the expected one , am i right ?

Pavilion theme
pavilion_default
1.2.6

2) After following steps described in http://docs.themeburn.com/pavilion/upgrade/ in a local env, i found the following 2 issues:

a) category page can’t be accessed, it’s showing a blank page.

php log file shows error “[16-Jan-2016 14:32:57 Europe/Berlin] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘endif’ (T_ENDIF) in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/boutique/system/modification/catalog/view/theme/pavilion/template/product/category.tpl on line 126″

It looks like there is an extra if in line 126, i removed the if condition from line 126 in this file (attached file), and the category page is working again.

Is it a known bug ?

b) content of left/right colum is not displayed in the category page. I tried to add a simple text block in pavilion control panel / column left area definition but it’s still blank. it looks like a general problem on left/right colum in categories. I tried to add text block in home page, it’s working.
is it a known problem? is there already a fix ?

thank you,

Hi,

1) Yes, the version number in the ocmod is only a label and has no impact.

2) None of the two cases is a known bug, nor is something we can see locally. Most likely, this is something to do with your configuration / installation that we need to check.

3) Version 1.2.8 and the latest available 1.2.9 are compatible with both OC 2.0.3.1 and 2.1.x. We recommend you to upgrade first and then we can check your website, if there are any issues still left.

P.S. It is always a good practice to have a working file and database backup, before updating.

Hello ThemeBurn team,

I set up a copie of production env and upgraded the environment to pavilion 1.2.9. The same problems can be observed:

2) a) category page not available because of extra if (if you remove extra if condition in line 126 in file then it works)

2) b) content of left/right column is not displayed in the category page

3) dollar currency (which is supposed to be disabled) is shown instead of default currency.

Could you please help me to solve the problems?

thank you,

Hi,

2-a) Problem was caused by a duplicated modification (Brainy Filter) in Admin > Extensions > Modifications

2-b) There is a “Category” block set for “All categories” scope and it shows fine in the front-end. Is this problem valid?

3) Most likely, you have changed your currency to USD before disabling it from the admin. Since OpenCart keeps the selected currency in a cookie, it has stored USD as a currently selected one and shows it no matter it is disabled. Clear your cookies and everything should be back to normal.

Hello ThemeBurn,

Thank you for your great support !
I performed same steps in prod env and it looks ok now.

2a) I don’t know why it was duplicated. only one modification was uploaded but 2 lines were created from the begining.

2b) had probably same root cause as 2a) . you can forget about it.
