We have been getting users who are all stating something very similar to this:

“The site just hung as I was trying to buy the Kapaun book, in the middle of the checkout process. I was in Chrome, I checked for some popup problem, found none, closed Chrome, tried Explorer, it hung in the same place. So I used the contact feature to tell them. Where it hung points to a problem in their address data. …You have to fight the site to shop at Angelus. Darn it!”

Here’s a correspondence this morning from my customer service people:

=====

Ruth and I have started to notice that since Friday, every morning there are 2 or 3 separate customers who have duplicate transactions. They email in saying it was accidental (I think most think it was their computer, some think it’s because it loads so long and it somehow charges twice.) Here is a typical example from this morning:

PLEASE CANCEL!!!! I was having as the Credit Card wasn’t going through- so I tried again and then saw that it DID go through so now I have 2 or 3 of the same order!!! Sorry for the inconvenience!!!

From yesterday:

Please cancel this order is a duplicate of order #4739 made today. Please confirm cancellation.

======

I haven’t been able to replicate the problem, but I know that it is not a fluke. It is happening to many potential customers.

Thank you!

Hello Andrew,

We’ve tried to place several test orders with different browsers on different computers and always managed to reach step 6 (confirm order). The server response time was relatively good and we didn’t wait too much between steps.

If you haven’t installed anything additional or made any changes to your Shoppica and OpenCart installation, then we tell for sure what exactly is causing this “hanging”. Has anybody specified the exact step, where the checkout stops at least? It is good to know whether this problem appears when using Shoppica only, or with the default theme too.

If a few words, we need to replicate the problem so we can provide any solution.

Hope you understand.

Best regards,
ThemeBurn team

Thanks… I also had an independent programmer look at this issue. It may be helpful for others who might have this issue?

“The issue was caused by PHP warnings being returned when Ajax posts the order data to authorize.net. Your error reporting level was set to display warnings on the page so the page could not be properly parsed by opencart because it had all the other garbage text. It’s fixed and working now”

Hi,

Thanks for revealing the cause for the problem. Hopefully, the Authorize.net module will be improved in future OC versions.

Best,
