Hi,
I used your suggestion from this topic: http://support.themeburn.com/topic/strange-404-error
But when I comment line 3 I get the following error:
“Warning: file_get_contents(xxxxx/catalog/view/theme/shoppica/template/module/shoppica_modify_theme.css.tpl) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxxxx/catalog/model/shoppica/shoppica.php on line 171.”
I want to get rid of this 404 to improve my pagespeed. According to webpagetest.org this request takes on average around 3129ms and returns with a 404 error (see also image).
How can I solve this issue? Is it an alternative to hardcode the background color (for instance #D8D8D8) and get rid of the option background image if you don’t use this option?

Hi,
I modified the site to increase the speed, 1200+ categories decreases the speed to much so I am experimenting to see what helps.
