Creating a "Search by size" box

Hey guys, I have a question. I need to know if creating something like this is possible. I have attached a screen shot from Zappos.com that ultimately achieves what I would like to accomplish.

Let us say that I have a category that has shoes. I want to create a box that displays a range of shoe sizes. Customers can then click on their shoe size to filter the shoes that we have available in their size. This would be on the category page.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot have filter for product options in OpenCart. At least not with the default functionality only.

You will have to search for some third party plugin, or get the feature developed.

I have Layered Navigation, but it is frustrating that options are not searchable. That would mean that I would have to list every size available not only as an option but as an attribute as well. Unless there is some way to make an attribute selectable like an option is (and there might be, I am rather new to the Opencart software), this idea would take more time than the functionality would save.

With that said, when using layered navigation, the “Browse” page breaks when using Shoppica. Is there any tutorial on how to theme the browse page to display correctly with the Shoppica theme? I can PM my site to see the error, if need be.

Hi,

Faceted search is one of the weakest features in OpenCart. In every more specific case you will need a developer assistance to get the job done.

As for the Layered Navigation integration with Shoppica, we do not have any implementation tutorial. You will maybe need some manual front end integration, or some additional styling.

We could give you some hints, if you post your website address.

You can hide parts from your content, if you don’t want them to be public.
