"Customer Order Product Upload" Extension not showing up in Shoppica

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesShoppica OpenCart Theme"Customer Order Product Upload" Extension not showing up in Shoppica

This topic has been marked as not a support question.

Hi guys,

I’ve just purchased this extension: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=1887&filter_search=upload%20file&filter_download_id=24&sort=e.downloaded&order=DESC

It’s not showing up on the order screen in the Shoppica theme. It’s showing up when I use the default template so I assume it’s a problem with Shoppica.

How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Dan

Hi,

Shoppica uses a little bit different markup, so you will need to either adapt the vqmod xml file to the new theme, or put the additional markup manually.

We could try to assist you, if you give us admin and ftp access.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

Hi,

The setup of the extension states I need VQMod, I’ve installed it but not quite sure if I’m meant to do anything? This is what the setup file included along with my FTP and Admin access!

Thanks guys! :-)

Hi TB Team,

How are we looking on integrating this Extension? Did you get my FTP details ok?

Look forward to hearing from you,

Dan

I can see this has been marked as ‘not a support question’?

You said you were going to ‘Try and assist me’, could I get some assistance please? Considering the extension is not working with Shoppica, but is working with the default theme I can’t see how this is not a support question?

If that’s not the case could you please point me in the right direction? I’ve been waiting 4-5 days for a reply..

Thanks in advance TB Team

Also if you’re not able to assist. Since you guys made the Shoppica theme could you quote me making this extenstion work?

Thanks

Hi Dan,

The topic is marked as “Not a support question”, because we don’t support third party plugins, as we’ve clearly stated in our Support policy.

We always try to be as much helpful as we can, but sometimes the modifications are not trivial and could not be covered by the free support offered by this forum. Unfortunately, your case is the same.

We have converted, however, the last part of the extension initialization vQmod xml file (_root/vqmod/xml/copu.xml – row 2963 and below). It deals with the custom image upload on the product page.[hidepost=0] You can check this page: http://printshark.co.uk/flyers/a7flyers?product_id=56/hidepost.

You can check how, we have modded the xml file and try to adopt the rest of the templates. You shouldn’t have too much problem, if you have some php and html knowledge. The idea is to adopt the vQmod with the existing Shoppica markup.

Hi TB Team,

That’s fine if you cannot offer the support for it as it’s extension. Would you be able to integrate the extension for me if I pay you? You guys made the theme so I think it would be best if you integrate it with the styling of the template.

How much would it cost me for you to integrate it? If that’s something you provide.

Thanks for your detailed and helpful response!

Thanks again,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Sorry for the late reply. We’ve been working hard (and still do) on the coming Shoppica 2.

We can integrate the extension for you and it should take approximately 1 hour (no more than 2). You can check our rates here: http://support.themeburn.com/themeburn-custom-development-rates

Talking about the upcoming Shoppica 2, we want to warn you, that there are slight differences in the templates of both versions. So if you want to upgrade later, you will need to edit again the vQmod integration files.

We are telling this, so you can decide, whether to do the integration now, or when Shoppica 2 goes out. Of course, you don’t have to update to Shoppica 2. The first Shoppica is a complete product and will still be supported and updated for newer versions of OpenCart.

It’s a shame these guys can’t help us out as I’m sure this extension is pretty popular. Anyways, I had to pay the Extension Author $30 to implement it :-( He only changed 2 files! I’m thinking of donating the two files that were changed to the TB team so that in future they can just give the code to future customers!

@djwilko
@dcool

Unfortunately, this is how OpenCart is designed.

If you want a complex and eye candy theme with many features, you will have to adapt the plugins, because it is almost impossible to bring all the Shoppica features with the markup from the default OpenCart theme. I doubt this problem only exist in Shoppica.

We know this is an unpleasant experience, so we plan to start providing compatibility fixes for the most popular extensions, after Shoppica 2 release.

@djwilko – any chance you can share the shoppica code changes here? I have the same problem with this extension.

Cheers
