Hi,

Generally facebook widget styling works only on a public server with no access restriction.

You will get no styling, if your server is password protected or IP restricted, if you run Shoppica on localhost, or if you don’t have a domain of the domain.com/subdomain.domain.com.

Hi,

Can we get the website url and admin access, if possible.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

Hi

I am using 1.4.9.5 , recently I have noticed even on the shoppica.net website the Facebook Widget has lost its styling. Is this because of a recent change with Facebook itself?

Please can you provide some insight, you can see our widget on http://www.wirelessmadness.com in the footer.

I can confirm that styling of facebook widget is broken. Facebook must have changed something. Broken in my website and http://www.shoppica2.com/ too. Does not work with IE or Firefox.

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no way to insert custom styles in the like box, since Facebook disabled their old widget code :(

We will try to minimize the damage with the upcoming update, but there won’t be a Shoppica style likebox anymore.

The facebook box does not work at all on my site.

Is it now perminently broken on this new version?

I have removed the FB widget.

What access do you need?

”Unfortunately, there is no way to insert custom styles in the like box, since Facebook disabled their old widget code.”

Really!!! But other websites are still managed to get their own styling over FB. pls chk d attached pic for sample. the website URL is – http://giffgaff.com/

They still uses FB widget with their own styling happily. Hope ‘Team Themeburn’ is not less than their team… hehehehe.

@PaulV

We need admin access, so we can make a test.

@boltonbull

Unfortunately, the website you have given uses the default Facebook styling as well. They have just made the widget border white and put it inside a custom box. It looks nice indeed, but there is no custom spacing or anything else.

I do agree with you. Since FB widget take up a considerable area on home page;
1. Why can’t we workout something along the same line? which is future proof some ways.
2. As you said, if we could set it neatly inside a custom box, its more appealing than the traditional look n feel.
Pls update me if there a way to do it in shoppica.

Thanx,
