Localization question

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Greetings,

I have followed all the steps and translated the files in en-gb and module folder and made a new folder that is called “slovenia” in that directory.

Then i translated both files and copied it like it says in the guide and uploaded the files to server.

Now the question is, do I need to do anything else to enable this translated language or what? I tried to refresh the page but its still in english… What do I need to do? Maybe I need to do something in the admin panel?

Thank you very much!

Hi,

The localization guide we offer is concerning only theme translation. You need to have a Slovenian language pack installed already!

Depending on your OC version, you have a couple of options here:

https://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=marketplace/extension&filter_search=slovenian

If you have any further questions, please let us know!

I think we misunderstood each other. Yes, im talking about the theme translation as “Welcome visitor you can login or create an account.” and other visible text or elements on the page. I followed your localization guide and translated every line in the theme.lang and stories file and then uploaded it to catalog/languages/slovenia/BurnTheme and /modules folder.

But the page is still in english. What to do?

Hi,

What is your OC version? Is your Slovenian store localization in the same slovenia folder? Generally OC version greater or equal to 2.2 use the locale naming conversion for the language folder (in your case sl-SI).

Without being able to take a look at the live example we cannot tell much. We will need the website url, admin and ftp access, so we can check.

Version 3.0.2.0

i created the “slovenia” folder next to en-gb directory in language like it says in the guide:
Here is the pic:

And then I followed all the steps and copied the files and translated them:
For example one line in the file was:
……..
$_['text_welcome'] = 'Dobrodošel obiskovalec, tukaj si lahko login or registrirate račun.';
………….

before it was
………….
$_['text_welcome'] = 'Welcome visitor you can login or create an account..';
…………

But on my page it still shows in english.

What else do I need to do?

Hi,

As we’ve said in our previous post, we cannot do much without having a look at the live example. Admin and ftp access are required.

Hi,

We see you have only the default English language installed:

You need to have a Slovenian translation first. Here is a tutorial how to add languages:

http://docs.opencart.com/en-gb/system/localisation/language/

After you’ve added a new language (or replaced the current English) then you can follow the theme localization guide.

example2:

When im on the main page like outlet.chiptehnika.si then I dont see the icons (like facebook icon etc….), but if I click somewhere on the page and the url changes to anything else, then I see the icons normally… Like shown above in the screenshots…

What to do?

Thank you
